Another book great for nature hikes is In the Snow. In this book the kids see clues like berries in the snow and balls of fur and bone, and wonder who has been there.

ReplyDeleteoh we loved to do that when we lived in UK always saw so many...I haven't done a nature hike in a while with the kids, once it warms up I will have to do that again.
ReplyDeleteWe've been checking up on animal activities in our own yard based on tracks. My kids were quite stumped by squirrel tracks for a time because they started and stopped without connecting. They finally realized there was tree climbing involved. There is so much to learn from watching animals.
ReplyDeleteWe love looking at animal tracks too! We usually fond more luck in the summer at the beach near by though! We have seen lots of little bird tracks and a few cats! Featured you this week on Mom's Library!
