My daughter made a potholder loop rug.
Creating potholders is a simple craft that has grown with the children. They began creating potholders with Harrisville Designs Potholder Deluxe Set
when they were 4 years old, and at ages, 8, 11 and 13, they continue to enjoy our potholder loom.
Now, instead of simply weaving the loops over and under back and fourth through the loom they are creating more complicated patterns.
Looking at the dark pink loop running horizontally across the bottom, it goes under, over, over, under, over, under, under, over, under, over, over, and so on.
Instead of using these finished potholders individually, they were sewn together to create a brightly colored rug. Creating potholders has been a great craft to build math skills and useful household items.
