Leukemia - How is Jemma? - Day 267

Jemma finished Phase 2B of her treatment Saturday night by taking a pill at home. Although the intensive phase of therapy is over, we must again wait for her blood to recover. Results from her blood check today showed very low leukocytes (1,100), platelets (40,000) and hemoglobin (7.8). Her blood will be checked again on Wednesday and if the values continue to decrease she may require another a blood transfusion. I will write an update this Thursday.

These low blood values are the desired effect of the chemotherapy. Even though her cells are being destroyed, she feels pretty good.

We are still getting out for our daily walks. Check out the new hats! They arrived last week in the mail newly knit from Grandma.
Now we know the local reindeer herd likes bread.

The wild deer have been out too, but we couldn't get as close to them.

  1. Whoo Hoo Jemma!! I will be praying for you that you get great results on Thursday. It is so nice to see Jemma running around, smiling and playing with her siblings. It has been a long road for you all but hopefully you can see the light at the end of a very long tunnel.
