Kirsten is one of the American Girl characters. I read a few of the books with my daughter, and then she went on to read all of the rest of them on her own. Although there is a bit of petty behavior within the stories she learned a lot about American history by reading them. This week she decided to make applesauce from Kirsten's American Girl Cookbook.

The recipe was very straight-forward and simple. We peeled apples, chopped them into tiny pieces, boiled them with water, mashed them and then added cinnamon.

I thought it tasted very good.
