Bumble Bee

Twice each week in the hospital an art teacher visits to do projects with the kids. This week the kids made wooden insects. We talked about how all insects have six legs, four wings and two antennae. Jemma decided to make a bumble bee.
She started by painting her block of wood.

Then she wrapped tissue paper around wire to create the wings, hammered six nails into the wood for legs (with a little help) and used a hot glue gun to attach two wire antennae.

What a great craft to go with a science unit about insects.
