Pretzel Sticks

Each week around Monday the kids start planning what they will cook on Friday. They start looking through the cookbook and soon present me with a list of things they will need. I can actually feel the excitement in the air, and it is wonderful.

This week the kids decided to make Pretzel Sticks from Rodale's Basic Natural Foods Cookbook. I truely believe this is the only cookbook you will ever need.

They mixed dough, kneeded it and waited for it to rise.
Then they rolled the dough into sticks and glazed the sticks with egg.
They sauteed onions to be put on with the glaze and remembered their eye protection.
The sticks were baked in our tiny German oven.
They were better than the pretzels in the bakery. Yummy!!!!!!!
