Hallein Celtic Museum

Since we studied the Celts this year we were excited to find this small Celtic Museum next to the Hallein Salt Mine we visited just outside of Salzburg, Austria. Many of the museum structures had thatch roofs.

Inside this Celtic bedroom the baby hangs from the ceiling in a wooden cradle. I remember seeing sketches of Native Americans hanging their babies from trees. I guess swinging babies is nothing new.

This is a Celtic oven.
The Celts believed in many gods. They even had a god of the wheel.

  1. Have to say that is the first time I have seen a cradle hanging from the ceiling beams, but it makes lots of sense to to do it that way. thanks for linking up to the Field trip hop
