This week my five year old and I made corn bread with zucchini. She poured in each cup and teaspoon and counted as we went. Then we took turns stirring the mixture. I often try stirring with my left hand to remind me how difficult the simple activity of stirring can be for a child.
Delicious!

Yum! We are new to corn bread, but love making and eating it already! We will have to try adding zucchini too. And good idea to try stirring with your left hand.
ReplyDeletemy grandmother had the funniest recipe - "you do equal corn meal and flour - an egg- some buttermilk - how much? until it's the right consistency - a pinch of salt - add water if you need to - place into seasoned cast iron skillet & cook in hot oven at 400 - how long? until it's done" how do you know? "smells done" Thanks for linking up to kids in the kitchen!
