Shoes off in Preschool

Most children wear slippers inside the school. Germans seem to believe that if you have cold feet you will get sick.

  1. Why, don't you? ;-)
One of the reasons why I like the Montessori school so much that my kids go to, here in the US, is that kids wear slippers inside (it's like their second home, after all).
Taking off your shoes as you enter a home is also something I like about the Japanese culture - keeps the dirt out and the Gem├╝tlichkeit in :-)
    Just sign me
    German mom :-)

  2. I love the fact that they wear slippers inside. We (my family) always take off our shoes when we enter a home. I guess I just don't believe that going barefoot will make you get sick.
