Dance Camp

Sports are organized completely differently in Germany than in the United States. Many Americans sports are run through the schools, but in Germany sports are run through private clubs. Local clubs compete against each other just as rival high school teams would compete. However, running the sports through the private clubs creates a very significant difference. There is no distinct end point to the sport. In the states graduating from high school is the end of many sporting careers. While in Germany since the school and sport are not connected participation can last many years beyond high school.
Hence dance camp. Although I may be the oldest participant in this group I am not the only mother and also not the only one in my 30's. We had a great weekend of dancing (and jogging) to help prepare for the upcoming competitive season.
