Camping in Germany

Camping in Germany is slightly different than camping in the states. First of all, most campgrounds don't have picnic tables at campsites so campers bring their own tables and chairs. Secondly, fires aren't allowed most places.  In the morning most campgrounds have a bakery truck with a nice selection of breads and treats. They also tend to have restaurants on the campground.

Have you ever heard of electric coolers? They don't use ice. Instead they just plug into the power outlet.

Lastly, many people purchase a small plot of land on the campground and set up a small trailer or house. Then they can live there seasonally.
