German houses are built to last

German houses are strong, square and built to last. They use quality materials. The walls are thick and made of concrete or brick. Many floors are concrete or marble, and the houses are well insulated. If you are upstairs you can’t hear the people downstairs at all. Because of the different construction methods the houses must be aired out once per day even in the winter. This means cracking all the windows in the house for at least 15 minutes. If this is not done there is no way for the humidity to escape.
